This worked exactly like described. We ordered it because our Hampton Bay Altura 68" fan had stopped working. It had power but was just not responding. We-boards said it was most likely the remote's receiver up in the fan. Additionally, they said to pay attention to the capacitor in the new receiver to make sure it is a 9uf or your fan will run much more slowly. After research, we ordered this one. We removed the bottom cap from the fan, unscrewed the 2 screws holding in the old receiver, screwed in this receiver (no modifications needed), installed it on the fan (plugged it in and screwed the cap back on the fan) and when through the recommended start up procedure in the instructions and it is working wonderfully. I whole-heartedly recommend this as a replacement receiver.
