When I gave the serial number for my Hunter ceiling fan, this model from Anderic came up. I assumed that this was a direct replacement remote for my unit. When I buy a replacement remote for a TV, it is easily replaced without a hassle. This unit is not already programmed to the same frequency of my Hunter 99600 remote. It consists of two parts- a receiver and the remote. This Anderic remote requires you to expose the wiring on your existing ceiling fan, attach the wires as instructed, and fit the receiver into your ceiling fan. There is considerable labor involved in this, and I will have to hire an electrician to do this for me a I can now longer safely climb ladders myself any more because of my cancer issues. So I will now have to hire an electrician- first to see if my Hunter fan has a removable receiver (not built in to the unit), and if removable, have the electrician attach and match up the setting on the remote and receiver (that looks very easy to do- it's the labor involved in opening up the fan and doing the wire that would be difficult for me...). The electrician will come by some time in the net week. If my fan does not have a removable receiver, then I will have no choice but to return the Anderic replacement remote I just purchased. My only complaint in all this was that it was not clear what would be involved to use this "replacement remote".... ie- it is not preprogrammed to the same frequency as my original remote that came with the Hunter fan. This was not made clear in the description of the Anderic product. My suggestion to Anderic would be to make that clear in the product description...
Great purchase. Exactly what I was looking for and easy to pair with my tv.
