This is the quality remote that all higher-end Denon AVR should be shipped with. If it costs $10 more to make than the non-backlit models, is that going to affect the bottom line on $3000 receivers? If you want to see the buttons in the dark, the RC 1221 is the one to get, even if you buy it after the receiver. The Yamaha high end remotes still put the Denon RC to shame though.
